I’m an infrastructure manager based in Edmonton, Alberta, with more than 15 years in enterprise IT. Most of that time has been spent in hybrid Azure and on-premises environments: Entra ID and Microsoft 365 at scale, VMware, Windows Server, Veeam, and a steadily growing amount of Ubuntu Linux.
I like the parts of this job where planning and hands-on work meet. Scoping a project, arguing for the budget, picking the vendor, and then still being the person in the console when it deploys.
At home I run a lab that has gotten somewhat out of hand: a 60-drive JBOD pooled with mergerfs, a self-hosted media stack, a reverse proxy setup I keep rebuilding, and various tools I have written because the existing ones did not do quite what I wanted.
This site is where I write that up. Some of it is genuinely useful. Some of it is a record of me troubleshooting something at 11pm so that future me remembers what happened.
Currently: working toward AZ-104.
